A Culturally Safe Model, Integrating Family & Community Supports
The Dadzi Wellness Centre is envisioned to work as part of a strategic integrated system under the roof of one Wellness Centre within a culturally safe model that integrates family and community supports consistent with a no barriers to care model.
The Dadzi Wellness Centre will function in an environment of open and transparent engagement where community members and invited guests are treated with respect, responsibility, obligation, compassion, balance, wisdom, caring, sharing and love.
The Service Plan provides a detailed overview of services to be provided by the Dadzi Wellness Centre, including net new primary care, mental health and traditional wellness services functioning as part of a team based wraparound care model. Services will prioritize known gaps in regional health services related to chronic disease, mental health and substance use, and integration of traditional wellness practices into a shared care model.
Working Collaboratively with Local Health Partners
The Dadzi Wellness Centre will work collaboratively with local health partners to tailor services in support of efficiently aligning service delivery to maximize culturally safe, trauma informed wraparound care and minimize duplication of services.
This FNPCI is unique in terms of the following:
- Early outreach by Physicians to work collaboratively with continuing engagement to ensure awareness and alignment
- Early and ongoing support (financial and in-kind) from the Primary Care Society in collaboration with the Northern Development Initiative Trust
- Full consensus to work on development of a model with no barriers to care
- Alignment of the Primary Care Network (PCN)/Primary Care Society (PCS), Northern Health & First Nations Primary Care Initiative (FNPCI) Services
